Queen's Park Rally

We are here to show our support for our minister of agriculture and rural affairs, the Hon. Noble Villeneuve. We know he is one voice in the legislator and all other MPP's need to know what is going on in the agriculture industry and what we have contributed to this province.

Fellow Ontarions need to know we exist. We are not just statistics but people who are proud to produce the food that everyone picks up in the grocery store. Right now our backs are up against the wall, and we need your understanding and financial help. We are here to put a face to the crisis and to represent the people that cannot be here today that produce food. Please do not take your food supply for granted.

Before I introduce our chairman for Ontario Pork, we want tlo thank the truckers for their send-off. Truckers are an impontant part of our hog industry and we appreciate their efforts. Percy the Pig has made a special guest appearance from Perth County where the largest number of pigs is produced in this province. Percy can always be seen at the Ontado pork congress in June where all of our industry people work together.

As a collective voice, we need to continue to increase people's awareness of our farm crisis, and to make a positive impact on our decision-makers. The rally does not stop here today. Keep our message out there. Safe journey home to your families and your farms.
